In vielen Ländern verschärfen sich Diskriminierung, Ausgrenzung und Gewalt gegen queere Menschen. Restriktive Gesetze und gesellschaftliche Stigmatisierung bedrohen weltweit grundlegende Menschenrechte. Die internationale Konferenz diskutiert, wie die deutsche Entwicklungszusammenarbeit ihrer Verantwortung gerecht werden kann, LSBTIQ*-Rechte global zu stärken – etwa durch politische Einflussnahme, Förderung lokaler Initiativen und die Integration queerer Perspektiven in entwicklungspolitische Programme.
Internationale Gäste berichten aus der Praxis, u. a. aus Projekten in Ghana und auf dem Balkan. Ein hochkarätig besetztes Panel beleuchtet aktuelle Herausforderungen und entwickelt Empfehlungen für eine inklusive und menschenrechtsbasierte Entwicklungszusammenarbeit.

In many countries, queer people are facing a worrying rise in discrimination, exclusion, and violence. Fundamental human rights are increasingly under threat through restrictive laws, political hate speech, and social stigmatization. This international conference will discuss how German development cooperation can take responsibility in promoting and protecting queer human rights worldwide – through political advocacy, support for local initiatives, and the inclusion of LSBTIQ* perspectives in development programs.
International guests will share best practices and “lessons learned” from projects in Ghana and the Balkans. A diverse expert panel will address current global challenges to LSBTIQ* rights and develop recommendations and concrete action steps for a more inclusive and human rights–based approach in German development cooperation.
