Im Dokumentarfilm „LESBIANS FREE EVERYONE – The Beijing Retrospective“ von Dr. Beverley Palesa Ditsie (2020) sprechen Lesben* aus verschiedenen Kontinenten über ihren Aktivismus im „lesbian tent“ bei der legendären UN-Weltfrauenkonferenz 1995 in Peking und über ihren Aktivismus heute.
Eine Veranstaltung der Hirschfeld-Eddy-Stiftung in Kooperation mit dem Internationalen Frauenfilmfest Dortmund + Köln (IFFF).

Beim Workshop „Joy & Resistance – a workshop with Dr. Beverley Ditsie about the challenges of LGBTIQ* struggles for Human Rights“ geht es um Aktivismus in der aktuellen geopolitischen Situation und die Rolle der UN. Dr. Beverley Ditsie wird die Erfahrungen des Widerstands mehrfach diskriminierter Schwarzer Südafrikaner*innen und das eigene Verständnis von „queer joy and affirmation“ einbringen und ist interessiert an Aktivismus in Deutschland.

Join us for “Joy and Resistance – A workshop with Dr. Beverley Ditsie about the challenges of LGBTIQ+ struggles for human rights”, about activism in the current geopolitical situation and the role of the United Nations. Dr. Beverley Ditsie will share experiences of resistance by Black South Africans against multiple forms of discrimination, together with a personal understanding of “queer joy and affirmation”. Dr. Beverley Ditsie is also interested in activism in Germany.
