Im Frühjahr 2025 veröffentlichte die New York Times einen Artikel mit dem Titel „These Words Are Disappearing in the New Trump Administration“ (dt.: „Diese Wörter verschwinden unter der neuen Trump-Regierung“). Er enthielt eine Liste von rund 200 Wörtern, deren Verwendung die Regierung als zu vermeiden oder einzuschränken gekennzeichnet hatte. Die Liste wurde auf der Grundlage von Mitteilungen der US-Regierung zusammengestellt, in denen die Löschung bestimmter Begriffe von Regierungswebsites angeordnet bzw. zur Vorsicht bei deren Verwendung geraten wurde.

Die ILGA-Weltkarte (Stand März 2026) zeigt die global sehr unterschiedlichen Lebensrealitäten von LSBTIQ*-Menschen: Während in einigen Ländern Rechte wie Ehe oder Selbstbestimmung bestehen, drohen in über 60 Staaten weiterhin Gefängnis, Folter oder sogar die Todesstrafe. Zudem macht die Karte auf Selbstbestimmungsgesetze sowie sogenannte Anti-Propaganda-Gesetze aufmerksam, die grundlegende Menschenrechte einschränken.

In the spring of 2025, the New York Times published an article titled “These Words Are Disappearing in the New Trump Administration”. It contained a list of around 200 words that the government had flagged to be avoided or limited in use.
